Monthly Bike & Scooty Rental in Tapovan, Rishikesh
If you're here for a month or more — a 200-hour TTC, a 300-hour, a long writing stint, a season of volunteering — daily rental rates are the wrong way to pay for transport.
A scooty is ₹9,000 for the month. That's ₹300 a day, which is roughly two auto rides between Tapovan and Ram Jhula. Over a 28-day course it replaces perhaps ₹25,000 of autos and taxis, and it means you're never negotiating a fare in the rain at 6 AM before morning practice.
We've been renting to Tapovan's yoga students since 2018. We know the course calendars, we know which schools are up the hill and which are on the flat, and we know that the week your course ends you'll want to ride to Kunjapuri before you fly home.

What You Get on a Monthly Rental That You Don't on a Daily One
Servicing is on us. If your rental crosses a service interval, we service the vehicle during your stay at no charge. You don't pay for oil, and you don't lose a day to it — we'll collect it and bring it back.
We swap rather than repair. If something goes wrong and it's not a ten-minute fix, we bring you another vehicle the same day. You have classes to get to.
Free delivery to your school or guesthouse. Anywhere in Tapovan, Laxman Jhula, Ram Jhula and 3 km around, and we collect from there on your last day — which is usually a day you're busy with a graduation and a flight.
No repeat paperwork. One set of documents at the start. You don't come back to the shop every week.
We'll hold your dates. Tell us your course start date and we'll have a vehicle ready on arrival day, when you're jet-lagged and don't want to be shopping for one.
For 200-Hour and 300-Hour Students in Tapovan
Most of our monthly renters are doing a teacher training somewhere within two kilometres of our shop. A few things we've learned in seven years of this:
Take the scooty, not the Enfield. Almost everyone who arrives wanting a Royal Enfield for the month ends up using it for four short trips and parking it for the other twenty-six days. The Activa does your daily riding better and leaves ₹20,000 in your pocket for the trip you take afterwards.
Your schedule is 6 AM and 8 PM. Both of those are dark, and the road between Tapovan and the lower schools has no lighting and plenty of cows. Every vehicle we hand out has working lights, and we check them. Wear the helmet at night even on the two-minute ride.
Rent from day one, not week two. People arrive, spend a week negotiating autos, then come and rent anyway. Starting on arrival day costs the same per day and saves you the first week of hassle.
The last week is the point. When your course ends you'll have three or four free days and a strong urge to see something. Kunjapuri for sunrise, Vashishtha Gufa, Neer Waterfall, Neelkanth — all comfortably doable on the same scooty you've had all month. If you want a Royal Enfield for those last few days, we'll swap you onto one and charge you the daily rate for just those days.
Other People Who Rent by the Month
Long-stay travellers and remote workers. Rishikesh has become a place people stay in for a season. Transport by the month is the cheapest part of that.
Volunteers and ashram residents. We've had people take a scooty for four and five months at a stretch. Ask and we'll price it as one rental rather than five.
Riders touring Uttarakhand slowly. If you're spending six weeks working through the Garhwal valleys rather than sprinting the Char Dham loop, a monthly Himalayan works out considerably better than the seven-day rate. Tell us your route.

What You Need
Same as any rental: an original two-wheeler driving licence and a government photo ID, or — visiting from abroad — your home licence, an International Driving Permit issued in your own country before you flew, and your passport.
