Bike Rental Prices in Rishikesh — The Whole Rate Card

Everything we charge is on this page. There is no booking fee, no per-kilometre charge, no cleaning charge, and no "peak season" surcharge that appears when you arrive.

We publish this because most rental shops in Rishikesh don't, and the ones that don't are usually quoting a different number depending on your accent and your luggage.

A "day" means 24 hours from the time you collect, not calendar days. Pick up at 3 PM Tuesday, return by 3 PM Wednesday.

What the Price Covers

What You Pay For Separately

Fuel. The bike leaves with a full tank and comes back with a full tank. There's a pump on the way in from Tapovan; fill up before you return it. If it comes back short, we charge the shortfall at the pump rate — ask us for specifics when you book.

The security deposit. ₹1,000 for a scooty, ₹3,000 for a motorcycle. Refunded in full, in cash or by UPI, the moment the bike comes back undamaged with a full tank. We don't hold it for days and we don't hold your passport instead unless you'd prefer that.

Traffic fines and tolls. Yours. If a challan arrives after you've left, we'll contact you.

Damage. Covered below.

Deposit, Damage and Insurance

The deposit. ₹1,000 scooty, ₹3,000 motorcycle. Cash or UPI. Returned the same day you return the bike.

What we check on return. Fuel level, and any damage that wasn't on the bike when it went out. We photograph every vehicle before handover and go around it with you — so what's already scratched is already recorded, and you won't be charged for it.

If something gets damaged. We assess it against the condition photos taken before you rode out and talk you through it directly — ask us for the specifics of a given case when you book. Nothing is charged without showing you why.

Insurance. Every vehicle carries valid insurance, which covers third-party liability as required by law. It does not cover damage to the rental vehicle itself — that remains the rider's responsibility.

If the bike is stolen. Call us immediately and file a police report — talk to us directly and we'll work through it with you.

Booking, Changes and Cancellation

Booking. Nothing to pay in advance. Message or call with your dates and the bike you want, and we'll hold it. Payment happens when you collect — cash or UPI.

How far ahead to book. For a scooty, same day is usually fine. For a Royal Enfield in Char Dham season (May–June) or the post-monsoon window (September–October), give us a week. The Himalayans and the Guerrilla go first.

Cancellation. Since there's nothing to pay in advance, there's nothing to lose by cancelling — just tell us your plans changed so we can release the bike for someone else.

Extending. Call us. If the bike isn't booked out after you, extending is usually fine, and your rate improves if the extension pushes you past three or seven days.

Returning late. Call us if you're running behind — we're reasonable about small delays, and we'll only ever agree a charge with you directly if it affects someone else's booking.

Delivery and Collection

Free, both directions, anywhere in Tapovan, Laxman Jhula, Ram Jhula, and within 3 km of our shop in Ghugtyani Malli. That covers most guesthouses, hostels, ashrams and yoga schools on this side of the river.

Further out — the railway station, the bus stand, Muni Ki Reti, Shivpuri — ask us and we'll sort something out.

Arriving late at night or leaving before we open? Tell us in advance and we'll work around it.

Documents You'll Need

Indian riders — original two-wheeler driving licence (not a learner's), plus one government photo ID.

International riders — your home country licence with a motorcycle entitlement, an International Driving Permit issued in your own country before you travelled, and your passport.

We check licences properly. It isn't bureaucracy — an unlicensed rider invalidates the insurance for everyone involved.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to rent a bike in Rishikesh per day?
A scooty is ₹500 a day. Royal Enfields run from ₹1,200 for a Hunter 350 to ₹2,000 for a Himalayan 450. Rates drop at three days and again at seven. Fuel is separate.
Is there a kilometre limit?
Ask us when you book and we'll confirm for your specific rental.
How much is the security deposit?
₹1,000 for a scooty, ₹3,000 for a motorcycle. Refunded the day you return the bike.
Can you hold my passport instead of a deposit?
If you'd rather, yes — though most people prefer to keep their passport and leave the cash.
Do you accept card or UPI?
UPI and cash, always. Ask us about card when you book.
Do I pay anything to reserve a bike?
No. We hold the bike on your word, and you pay when you collect.
Are your prices negotiable?
No, and that's deliberate. The rate on this page is the rate everyone pays, which is why it's published.
Is fuel included?
No. Full tank out, full tank back.
Do you charge extra in peak season?
No. These rates hold through Char Dham season and the autumn rush.
Is there a monthly rate?
An Activa is ₹9,000 a month. Royal Enfield monthly rates are on request — ask us with your dates. Monthly rentals →

Questions About the Price?

Ask. We'd rather answer now than have a conversation about it when you're returning the bike.
