Bike & Scooty Rental in Muni Ki Reti, Rishikesh
Muni Ki Reti is the hinge of Rishikesh. Everything crossing between the town and the upper right bank passes through it, the road to Shivpuri and Tehri starts here, and most of the rafting operators run out of it.
It's also the part of Rishikesh where being on a bike makes the most difference, because it's the part everyone has to travel through rather than stay in.
We rent from Tapovan, a short ride up the road, and we deliver.
Getting Around From Muni Ki Reti
Muni Ki Reti sits between Rishikesh town and Tapovan, on the right bank, at the point where the road splits — one way up past Tapovan toward Laxman Jhula and the Badrinath highway, the other along the Ganga toward Shivpuri, Byasi and eventually Devprayag.
That position is genuinely useful on two wheels. From here you can be:
- In Tapovan in five minutes
- At Shivpuri in half an hour
- On the Neelkanth road without going through the town
- Heading to Kunjapuri or Tehri without doubling back
And genuinely frustrating without them, because it's a road you pass through rather than a place with much within walking distance.

Collection and Delivery
We're based in Ghugtyani Malli, Tapovan — a few kilometres up the road. Delivery and collection are free within three kilometres of the shop, which covers the upper part of Muni Ki Reti. For hotels further down toward the barrage and the town side, message us and we'll sort something out.
If you're arriving by taxi from Haridwar or the railway station, most drivers pass through Muni Ki Reti anyway. Tell us your arrival time and we can have the bike waiting rather than have you unpack and come out again.
The Best Reason to Have a Bike Here
The road upstream from Muni Ki Reti along the Ganga — through Shivpuri, past the rafting camps, up to Byasi — is the finest short ride in Rishikesh and it starts at your door.
Vashishtha Gufa — around 22 km from Tapovan. A meditation cave in the rock beside the river, and a quiet beach below it. Ride out early and you'll have it to yourself.
Shivpuri — around 16 km. The rafting hub, and a good stretch of river beach when the boats aren't launching.
Byasi — around 30 km. Further upstream, quieter, and the point where the valley starts to feel like the mountains rather than the foothills.
None of this requires a big bike. An Activa does all three comfortably. Full route guide →

What to Rent
Rafting, day trips, getting around — Activa 125. Most people here are doing short runs between their hotel, the river and Tapovan, and a scooty does that better than anything.
Riding the river road properly — Hunter 350 or Classic 350. The stretch to Byasi rewards a real motorcycle.
Heading for the mountains — Himalayan 411 or 450. Compare the fleet →
